Exercise doesn’t have to look like exercise…

Full Capacity Living…

A client said something today that stopped me in my tracks:

“Exercise is not going to be in our conversation.
I get tired when I work out… and then I beat myself up because I still have so much to do.”

And yet—this same woman runs around with her grandkids, gardens, cooks, cleans, carries heavy things, dances, and stays on her feet most of the day.

Here’s the part we often miss:

That is movement. That is exercise.

Research from psychologist Ellen Langer showed this beautifully. In her well-known study of hotel maids, the women were told that their daily work counted as exercise and met physical activity guidelines. They didn’t change their routines—but they improved blood pressure, weight, body composition, and overall health markers simply by changing their perception.

Same body. Same activity.
Different meaning.

So maybe the question isn’t:
“Did I exercise today?”
But instead:
“How did my body move in service of my life?”

If your movement is already woven into how you live, that counts.
No punishment. No extra workout required.

Sometimes the most supportive thing we can do is stop telling our bodies they’re failing—and start acknowledging what they’re already doing well.

Together we can make the world a happier, healthier place.

In best health,
