Full Capacity Living…

In a world that runs on urgency and constant connection, our bodies are quietly asking for something different.
They’re asking for space to regulate.
Time to restore.
Moments to breathe without obligation.
As a functional medicine health coach, I see it all the time: even the most dedicated, mindful women are depleted—because true rest doesn’t happen between errands or during five minutes of meditation between Zoom meetings.
Don’t get me wrong…I love a short energy restore during the day but…
True rest happens when we intentionally unplug—from work, from screens, from the pull to always be “on” and say “yes”.
If your business is your own…I see you, I am you. Even if you work for someone else, women tend to take on all things and it’s time to reconcile that.
That’s why I’m inviting you to plan something radical and deeply healing:
A Solo Wellness Day—a full day just for you, without a phone (unless needed for emergencies or young children of course), without your computer, and without productivity goals.
In the following sections, you’ll find simple guidance to help you create a restorative day that supports your nervous system, nourishes your body, and reconnects you with your own internal rhythms.
Because wellness isn’t just what you do.
It’s how you come to the world —when no one is watching, and when you give yourself full permission to pause.
Slow down…come home to yourself.
For now, all you need to do is take a breath and say yes to yourself.
You deserve that.
GIVE YOURSELF PERMISSION.
How to Plan Your Solo Wellness Day
Step 1: Choose Your Day with Intention
Pick a day now—don’t wait for the “perfect” time. Look ahead at your calendar and block it out. Treat it like a non-negotiable appointment with your deepest self. This isn’t indulgent—it’s necessary.
Step 2: Spread the word
Set the boundary lovingly. Whether it’s your partner, kids, coworkers, or clients, let them know you’ll be offline for the day and only reachable for true emergencies. This is part of the healing: owning your needs without guilt.
Anticipate what might get in the way of your day(your own mind or the neediness of others?)
Step 3: Prepare
Tidy your space or choose a space, it doesn’t have to be home and maybe it shouldn’t be.
Shop for nourishing food or find a sweet cafe or local place you’ve wanted to check out.
Gather your things—journals, herbal teas, playlists, meditations, whatever feels nurturing. Think of it as setting the stage for your own sacred retreat.
What Can a Solo Wellness Day Look Like?
There’s no right way—only your way.
Here are some restorative ideas:
Start slow – Wake without an alarm. Begin with lemon water/herbal tea, light stretching, or meditation.
Move intuitively – Gentle yoga, a nature walk, dancing in your kitchen—choose movement that feels like a gift, not a punishment.
Journal – Reflect on what’s present for you. Ask: What do I need right now? What am I ready to release?
Eat intentionally – Prepare or let someone prepare for you, whole foods with beautiful colors. Savor each bite without distraction.
Soak and rest – Take a long bath with salts or oils. Nap without guilt. Let your body reset.
Do nothing – Truly. Sit on the porch. Watch the trees. Lie on the floor. Let stillness be medicine. This is not laziness…thinking this way is the quickest way to sabotage your wellness.
Create or receive beauty – Read poetry or a book, sketch, create, listen to music. Let your day be artful, bring out that creative nature that may be asking for more time.
End the Day with Gratitude
As your wellness day winds down, journal one last time:
- What did I notice when I slowed down?
- What surprised me about my own rhythms?
- How can I bring small pieces of this day into my everyday life?
- How can I honor myself and do this regularly?
And most importantly—thank yourself. You showed up. You unplugged. You honored your needs. That’s not just healing, it’s revolutionary.
Keep in mind, you don’t need a reason to rest.
You just need a willingness to listen to your mind, body and spirit.
With love and spaciousness,
